Meet Jake A. Peterson, DDS, MD

Dr. Jake PetersonDr. Jake A. Peterson was born and raised in southeast Idaho. A natural people person and problem solver, Dr. Peterson was drawn to oral surgery to help people through reconstructive and corrective treatments. He finds the field deeply rewarding and keeps up with the latest advances, so he can provide his patients with the exceptional care they deserve.

Following a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, Dr. Peterson attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and graduated at the top of his class. He obtained his Medical Degree (MD) at the University of Michigan Medical School and received High Honor designations during his time there. He then completed his surgical training in general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital System. During his residency, he was elected Surgical Chief from 2018 to 2019 and received honors with several awards for his leadership.

Dr. Peterson has earned several esteemed distinctions during his education and training. Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society, the UM School of Dentistry Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Chi Chapter, a recipient of the UM Medical School Top 10 Certificate of Clinical Excellence, and a standing member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

He has taken his skill set abroad on several cleft lip and palate mission trips, including Mexico and Honduras. Dr. Peterson plans to continue these life-changing trips throughout his surgical career and even into retirement. Dr. Peterson enjoys adding to his skill set and is always open to recommendations!

Outside of the office, Jake and his wife Madeline, along with their dogs, can be found exploring, hunting, fishing, skiing, running and biking. They are thrilled to be making Bend their home and experiencing all that Central Oregon has to offer.

Had 4 wisdom teeth removed they had cool food stress squeezes that were cool the nurses assistants were very nice and very respectful to me I highly recommended these guys for wisdom teeth extraction removal if you want the bravest patient award for a coffee or an Italian soda if you want!
